If you're into sewing, then you know that finding that perfect bag to carry all your "gear" can be difficult. This one bends my cutting mat. That one doesn't have enough storage. Which one is way too big... It's all very Goldilocks reminiscent.
Going through my instagram feed, I found the IT bag. THE bag that would be not too "hot", not too "cold", but just right.

This is a pattern from the ever-amazing Sara Lawson of Sew Sweetness. It has three width-of-bag pockets on the front and a magnetic snap-flapped pocket on the back. Inside is just as dreamy.
There is a width-of-bag pocket on each side of the interior. Then...the magic. There are FOUR vinyl zipper pouches with sections in each to store every shape and sized project or tool you would ever want or need. (Ok. Maybe not want. If you sew, you know that list can be rather extensive.) I only made 3 pouches because my patience to sew with vinyl reached it's max at number 1. They are awesome though. And so perfect.
For the width-of-bag interior pockets, I decided to make one a patchwork pocket. (Actually, I ran out of enough fabric of one to make a pocket wide enough, so I had the "happy accident" of making a patchwork.)

I love how it turned out.
I think my favorite thing about this bag is the waratagh flower print on the outsides. I just cannot get enough of that orange, blue and grey together. Genius! All of the prints come from the very talented Emma Jean Jansen. This line is the first of her Terra Australis prints. She has Terra Australis 2 out now. It reached the states about a month or so ago and it's just as rich in color and print as the first. Needless to say, I have FQB of both colorways. (I still am in LOVE with those 'roos, though.)
I can't believe how quick, and rather easily, this bag came together...vinyl being the exception, of course. :)
I am so excited to use this and make one for some of my sewing friends. It's definitely on the HOT GIFT list this birthday, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc. season.
